With over three decades of expertise spanning mergers & acquisitions (M&A), partnering, and investing, Dr. Crean stands at the forefront of the life sciences and healthcare sectors ecosystem. His extensive experience is rooted in strategic biopharmaceutical companies, investment banking, private equity, and venture capital firms. David’s vast expertise, strategic foresight, and trusted advisory have cemented his reputation as a vanguard in the life sciences and healthcare landscape.

Currently, he serves as a General Partner at 1004 Venture Partners with a focus on investing in early stage companies with a mandate towards healthy aging and longevity. He also serves as the Managing Partner for Cardiff Advisory LLC, an M&A, strategic advisory investment banking firm. Here, David has worked with entrepreneurs, management teams, and Boards of Directors of more than 250 client companies in achieving their growth and exit aspirations. Outside of VC and investment banking, David also co-founded CEO360, a peer-to-peer advisory coaching model for life sciences CEOs.

On the governance front, David is a respected board member for several public and private life sciences firms and his commendable contributions to the ecosystem haven't gone unnoticed. His accolades include the 2023 Leaders of Influence in Life Sciences, San Diego Most Influential Business Leaders in 2019-2023, 2020 Top Thought Leaders by Axial, and the 2019 M&A Advisor of the Year. Educationally, David boasts a Ph.D. in Biophysics, an MS in Oncology, and an MBA with a finance concentration. He is a Registered Investment Banking Representative of BA Securities LLC and is actively licensed with FINRA Series 79 and Series 63.
